I’ve connected my data sources - what happens next?

After you connect your data sources to Mailability.io, the syncing process usually takes about 3 days (sometimes a bit longer if you have a large amount of historical data). Once syncing is complete, our team performs a detailed audit of your information and builds a custom model designed specifically for your brand. When the audit is ready, we’ll contact you to set up a time to review it together. If you’d like an update on your data at any stage, just reach out via email at support@mailability.io.

What data is required for my audit?

To perform an audit, we’ll need you to connect your account (via our Klaviyo integration). These allow Mailability.io to securely access your data and review the many touchpoints related to both your active and suppressed users, essentially, anyone you’re currently emailing or suppressing.

How long does the onboarding process take?

Our onboarding process usually takes 1–2 hours. After we prepare and analyze your data, we’ll schedule a 1-hour call to kickstart Mailability.io’s algorithms on your Klaviyo account. You can expect to start seeing incremental revenue immediately afterward.

What if a suppressed contact starts engaging again?

Mailability.io continuously tracks activity across your email and website. If someone who was previously suppressed begins interacting with your brand again, they’ll be automatically shifted back into your active audience. Our intent models are designed to detect even subtle signals of renewed interest, the kind that might be overlooked manually, so no potential customer slips through the cracks.

How does Mailability.io handle customers we’ve manually suppressed?

If a customer asks to unsubscribe, it’s important to mark them as “unsubscribed” in Klaviyo rather than choosing “manually suppress.”

Here’s why: Anyone marked as unsubscribed will never be included in reactivation opportunities. Manually suppressed contacts, however, are still monitored by our models. If they show new signs of engagement, Mailability.io may treat them as reactivated, even though they had previously unsubscribed. If this has happened in your account, we can adjust your settings so reactivations only come from contacts suppressed through Mailability.io. That way, manually suppressed profiles won’t be reactivated by mistake.

Customer Data

What happens with my customer data?

We securely process your data within our cloud provider (AWS) and consolidate it to gain insights across all customer touchpoints. This allows us to build a comprehensive profile for each user, which powers Mailability.io’s AI-driven optimizations.

Do you handle personally identifiable information (PII)? What if new PII regulations are introduced?

The PII we work with may include email addresses, names, phone numbers, physical addresses, and the last four digits of credit card numbers. Data stored in Klaviyo is accessible to us. If a company cannot permit the use of PII, Mailability.io cannot provide services to that company. We will always comply with current and future regulations regarding PII usage.

What data do you analyze? What insights does Klaviyo provide that I can’t see myself?

Mailability.io examines the interaction of multiple metrics, including opens, clicks, time spent on site, purchases, and overlays, as well as factors like loyalty and returns. Individually, these data points may seem minor, but when combined, they create a comprehensive shopper profile.

Integration

What is OAuth, and why does it matter?

OAuth is a modern, secure standard for connecting applications. Instead of sharing your login credentials, OAuth lets you grant Mailability.io the specific permissions needed to access your Klaviyo account safely. This approach not only enhances security but also simplifies the process of linking your Klaviyo account to Mailability.io.

How do I connect Mailability.io to Klaviyo using OAuth?Log in to Mailability.io:

1. Start by signing in to your Mailability.io account.
2. Add your brand: If your brand isn’t already added, add it in Mailability.io.
3. Start the OAuth connection: Go to the integrations section and select Klaviyo as the platform to connect.
4. Log in to Klaviyo: You’ll be redirected to the Klaviyo login page.
5. Authorize access: Review the permission request and click “Authorize” to grant Mailability.io access to your account.
6. Return to Mailability.io: After authorizing, you’ll be automatically redirected back, and your Klaviyo account will be successfully connected.

What permissions does Mailability.io need from my Klaviyo account?

Mailability.io requests access to certain permissions in your Klaviyo account, including the ability to:
- Read customer profiles
- Trigger events
- Create lists and segments
- Access performance metrics and similar types of data and actions
These permissions enable Mailability.io to perform tasks such as generating a list of your most engaged customers so you can email them quickly and maximize revenue.

How do I revoke the OAuth connection?

If you need to disconnect Mailability.io from your Klaviyo account, you can do so in two ways:
From Klaviyo: Go to your Klaviyo dashboard, navigate to Integrations, and revoke Mailability.io’s access.
From Mailability.io: In your Mailability.io account, click on your initials at the bottom left corner and then click on "disconnect Mailability" and click the trashcan icon to remove the connection and revoke access.

Why does Mailability.io need manager access to my Klaviyo account?

Granting Mailability.io manager access allows us to gain immediate insights into your Klaviyo account performance, campaigns, reporting, deliverability and other relevant data. This access helps us fine-tune our models to better optimize your email marketing.

Do you integrate with other third-party solutions?

Yes! Mailability.io automatically works with any solution that’s already connected to your Klaviyo account. Examples include Retention.com, Elevar, and Triple Whale.

Billing and Payments

When do I pay?

After signing an agreement with Mailability.io, you’ll receive an onboarding email containing payment instructions. Billing is processed on a monthly basis.

What if I’m not satisfied with the results?

We know trying something new can be uncertain. If Mailability.io doesn’t meet your expectations, we’ll issue a full refund.

What happens if I want to cancel?

If you choose to cancel, we’ll end your subscription at the close of your current paid month. Our goal is for you to clearly see the value Mailability.io brings to your retention channel. If that’s not happening, we’re happy to discuss it and find a solution. If your circumstances change for reasons unrelated to Mailability.io, just let us know and we’ll support you in the best way possible, even if it means going in a different direction.
